Are you tired of looking at travel sites that seem to be more interested in getting you to sign up for a credit card and telling you how if you spent tens of thousands of dollars you too could travel for “free” in business class to international destinations and stay at the finest hotels? Or watching travel videos only to find out that the people were either being paid to stay there or their visit was given to them for free so you question if you heard the whole story about their trip?
Welcome to the Travel Fun and Adventure Blog. Along with our podcast, and other future projects we are looking to help you plan adventures especially if you have kids, a pet, or you are just a couple looking to explore the world. Our goal is to provide tips, lists of top providers, and hacks to get good deals on your travel.
One thing that I have noticed when looking around at travel sites is that so many of them are out there telling you how you can travel the world on points, and they will show you the way all it takes is signing up for 18 credit cards and you too can be flying to exotic locations in business and first class. I have found many of the YouTube channels also seem too full of people who are getting paid to travel to those destinations which in itself is not a bad thing but if the hotel is paying them to stay then what you are getting is a promotion video for the resort or hotel, not an honest review on how good the place is. In addition, I am guessing that many who read this blog cannot afford to stay at a Ritz-Carlton on Waikiki but need tips on how to have a great adventure at a great price.
Well, I cannot promise that there will never be a promotion on here for a credit card or some other kind of offer, however what I can promise you is that our primary goal is to provide you with the information that you need to plan a great trip. Along the way I will give you reviews, lists of the top providers, helpful tips, and hopefully have a few laughs along the way. There are so many people to meet, places to explore, and things to see.
But what is most important is you the readers and listeners. We want to give you the practical information you need. Because we are doing this for you. We want you to be a part of this show. If you have experiences, you want others to know about or have suggestions on a topic we should cover, we want to know.
You can say that travel is in my blood, or more appropriately I was born with travel and exploration in my blood. I am too young to remember my first plane trip, but I grew up with plane rides and long journeys. In addition, I have a sister that worked for Continental Airlines before running a travel agency. At 17 years old I took a 10-day train trip through the western United States. Since then, I have traveled very extensively. In 2011 my wife and I adopted a sibling group of four out of foster care. Traveling with kids brings a whole new dimension to traveling and then the latest addition to our family was a dog who also adds new elements to traveling.
